HI everyone! I am zheng xiang and this is my 4th blog post for class 1A2's blog.
Today, the whole class(a few did not)went on an excursion to the National Museum with class 1A1. This excursion is about the life of ancient egyptians about 6000 years ago. This excursion was organised by our Humanities teacher, Mr Paul Ho and the National Museum(of course, why would we go there when the excursion was not organised by them?). I found it a wonderful(actually, not so wonderful) learning experience. But I still managed to learn some interesting facts ,customs and beliefs about the ancient egyptians.
There was an activity in which we need to deep strips of paper into some kind of starch mixture(not sure what it is) and paste them on the aluminium sheet provided. I found it quite fun and interesting. At first, I didn't dare to deep my hands into the mixture. But I soon plucked up my courage, gave it a try and thought it was not that disgusting as I thought. Some people like M16 called it "soya bean" and I thought it was quite funny and hilarious.
For the gallery exhibition, I found it a little boring and at the end I felt a little restless. I feel that the museum should use some cartoons to depict the artefacts to make them look more attractive and capturing. But I was still a little excited on seeing mummies and several interesting artefacts(too bad I did not manage to take some photos).Through this excursion, I learnt about how the ancient egyptians preserve dead bodies, which takes up about a whooping 70 days. Actually the ancient egyptians believed in afterlife, that's why they preserve dead bodies and put them in a pyramid. One more thing, I also learnt that the pyramid stands about 140m tall!It takes at least 70+ of us to be able to reach that height!
So I end my post now. By the way, please take note that the person who posted a post on CNY without a name was me. The post is just right after someone's post on Co-co magazine(can't remember who)Thank You and have a great week ahead! :) Hope you all also had enjoyed the educational trip too.
