Hi guys, this is Zheng Xiang.
This is the poem which I like. Its name is "Dreams" by Langston Hughes
Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
The poet creates a clear and memorable picture and tries to get the reader to see the original subject: Holding fast to dreams, in a new way. There is a direct comparison between two different things. The poet also does not use boring words like "like" or "as"The poet also begins both stanza with the same phrase "Hold fast to dreams", which emphasizes on the main theme of the poem
