Hi all!!!
I'm in such a great mood now. Today, I just received my CCA posting results, and I got into my first choice-- SJAB!!!
People have been telling me that St. John is a 'gay' CCA and whatsoever, but CCA is something about interest, not about people's opinion.
The reason I wanted to join St. Johns was because I found it a meaningful CCA. I get to learn how to save lives by doing CPR, how to carry stretchers and all the interesting things. It isn't such a bad CCA like what they think. It may seem weak when compared to NCC and NPCC's pumping and mad drilling, but in return, you get to learn so much more then drilling, how to spin your gun, how to do drills much more neater than the rest. It doesn't seem as bad to me after I went for their trial. I may have to pump, but not as much. I may have to drill, but not so vigorously. I get to learn life-saving skills, the rest don't. Of course, in Scouts they also teach use life-skills, but those are somehow only applicable when camping. The skills I would be learning in St. Johns will be useful in critical situations, if someone had a heatstroke what would you do? You won't be learning that in the rest of the Uniform Groups right? But in St. Johns we do. We can put our knowledge we learn to practical use, but in NCC where they teach you how to spin guns, when would you use it? Oh, I know, in army to show off to your officer. Then, once you stop your re-service when you gonna use it? In the community centre when you're old? To show that being old don't make you lose everything? Come on!!! Be realistic!!!
St. John is also good in a way for ME because well, IM FAT. So all the exercises , drilling and pumping will make me lose weight for sure.(provided i really cant ;))
Ok, anyway, I'm done with my post.
Bye!!!
