Where the sidewalk ends By Shel Silverstein
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

This is a poem that talks about the vast contrasts between nature and city.
In my opinion, I think this is a very good poem to express man's love for nature and to use in these Save Earth Campaigns.
The poet uses hyperboles to greatly distinguish nature from city, making the reader understand what a great distance the city is from nature.
Nothing else really, but, nice!
Messy Room by Shel Silverstein
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
His underwear is hanging on the lamp.
His raincoat is there in the overstuffed chair,
And the chair is becoming quite mucky and damp.
His workbook is wedged in the window,
His sweater's been thrown on the floor.
His scarf and one ski are beneath the TV,
And his pants have been carelessly hung on the door.
His books are all jammed in the closet,
His vest has been left in the hall.
A lizard named Ed is asleep in his bed,
And his smelly old sock has been stuck to the wall.
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!

Huh? You say it's mine? Oh, dear,

in my opinion, this is a very nice poem and a funny one as the poet uses a hyperbole technique to make it sound more funny like putting words like underwear etc

And put his clothes on in the blue back cold,
then with cracked hands that ached
from labor in the weekday weather made
banked fires blaze. No one ever thanked him.
I'd wake and hear the cold splintering, breaking.
When the rooms were warm, he'd call,
and slowly I would rise and dress,
fearing the chronic angers of that house,
Speaking indifferently to him,
who had driven out the cold
and polished my good shoes as well.
What did I know, what did I know
of love's austere and lonely offices?
O Captain! My Captain! by Walt Whitman
1
O CAPTAIN! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
2
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up-for you the flag is flung-for you the bugle trills;
For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths-for you the shores a-crowding;
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head;
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.
3
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won;
Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
Most of the figurative language used in this poem is hyperbole. Examples are "O Captain", "O shores" and "O bells". There are also some personification, like "bugle trills" and "bouquet and ribbon'd wreaths". These figurative language all adds feelings and emotions to the poem and makes it more interesting to read, as it depicts the sea captain dying from a return trip to the sea.

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I-I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

A Dream Within A Dream by Edgar Allan Poe
Take the kiss upon the brow!
And in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night,or in a day
In a vision, or in a none,
Is it therefore the less gone
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few ! Yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep
O God!Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp
O God! Can I not save
One from a pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
Just a dream within a dream?

This poem is a hyperbole (exaggeration). This is seen as the author exaggerated the point that whoever the room is should be ashamed of his actions. The personification is that the lizard has a name which is Ed. Also, the sentence "Donald or Robert or Willie or--" is also a personification. The symbolism in this poem is the lamp, overstuffed chair, window, floor, door, closet, hall, bed and the wall.

Hi guys, this is Zheng Xiang.
This is the poem which I like. Its name is "Dreams" by Langston Hughes
Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
The poet creates a clear and memorable picture and tries to get the reader to see the original subject: Holding fast to dreams, in a new way. There is a direct comparison between two different things. The poet also does not use boring words like "like" or "as"The poet also begins both stanza with the same phrase "Hold fast to dreams", which emphasizes on the main theme of the poem

This is my favourite poem.
This poem is mainly a hyperbole and it means exaggeration. It also contains a little of personification. The poem is also ment to be comedic poem.
Signs of exaggeration is that thing are being placed and thrown all around the room.
Example of personification is that the lizard have a name.

The figurative language used in this poem is hyberbole.The author exagerated many things such as saying that the sock was stuck to the wall and even have a name for the lizard and how could a lizard be even asleep on his bed even!

The Tyger by William Blake
Tyger Tyger. burning bright
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye.
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat.
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer?What the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp.
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears
And watered heaven with their tears:
Did he smile His work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?
Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

The first figurative language is a hyperbole.It means exageration. The walk can be measured and slow. This exaggerates how slow the walk is. The other is alliteration. The phrase "Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow," is repeating the beggining sound of the words.

His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

These are the figurative language used by the poet
Hyperbole:
Edgar Allan Poe uses the phrase "amid the roar" which means stands weeping in the roar which shows a little exergeration, it shows that he is very unhappy and sad over a certain matter that he has to "amid the roar"
Personification:
Edgar Allan Poe uses the phrase "Grains of the golden sand... yet how they creep" He is giving life to the grains of sand and decribes them as "they" and "creep" He is describing the sand falling through his fingers.
Metaphor:
Edgar Allan Poe uses the phrase "hope has flown away" which is a Metaphor. I think that he wants to show how his hope has "'left him".
Symbolism:
The symbolism in the poem is "surf torment shore" where the poet describes himself to be in a torment shore and is disturbed.

The poem above mainly uses Personfication, Atilleration. Atilleration is used to emphasizes the relationships between words on the basis of sound as well as sense. Personification is used to convey and emphasize unusual and vivid images or give inanimate objects feelings in order to show emotion.
For an example,"My little horse must think it queer". In reality, we cannot know what the animal is thinking about. However, in the poem, the poet uses personificaton to bring out the human characteristic in the horse.
Atilleration is also used. "He gives his harness bells a shake" . The words "he", "his" and "hardness" are similar as they start with aletter "H". The defination of artilleration is that the repetition of usually initial consonant sounds in two or more neighboring words or syllables.

Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields -
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum:
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!

CCHT NEWS(Clement Chia Hui Tien)
Researchers at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston asked more than 19,000, normal-weight US women aged 39 or older how many alcoholic beverages they typically drank in a day, and then tracked the women for around 13 years.
The largest single group -- 7,346 women or just over 38 percent -- said they didn't drink a drop, according to the study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, a publication of the American Medical Association.
The second biggest group -- 6,312 women or nearly a third of those surveyed -- reported drinking the equivalent of around a third of a five-ounce glass of wine or a third of a 12-ounce beer. They did not explain how they managed to do so.
Twenty percent of the women said they drank the equivalent of up to a glass of wine, a 12-ounce beer, or a single-shot drink made with 80-proof spirits, while six percent said they had up to two drinks a day and three percent had more than two.
Over the 13-year follow-up period, the women who did not drink at all gained the most weight, and the women who had the equivalent of two drinks a day were the least likely to pack on pounds.
The best drink for keeping the pounds off was red wine, but all four types of tipple included in the study -- red or white wine, beer and spirits -- showed the same "inverse association between alcohol intake and risk of becoming overweight or obese," the study found.
The authors cautioned, however, against making recommendations on alcohol use as a tool against obesity, given the potential medical and psycho-social problems associated with drinking.
The women's alcohol intake was recorded in grams of alcohol.
A five-ounce (150 ml) glass of wine, 12-ounce beer or one mixed drink made with a single, 1.5-ounce shot of 80-proof alcohol all contain around 14 grams of pure alcohol and are considered "standard drink sizes" in the United States, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Everytime I see the octopuses at Underwater World on an excursion or for leisure, I would remember the horrifying experience I had when I was in primary six……
“I am so going to win this competition!” I thought when my science teacher announced that there would be an science experiment competition throughout all the primary schools in Singapore and that the winner would get two thousand dollars for having the best science experiment done in the competition. Soon school was over and I pondered over what type of experiment I should do as I was on my way home. A chemical reaction experiment ? No, too difficult. An experiment on plants ? No way, it would be too boring. At that moment, as I was walking along the aisle of shops near my house, I saw a fish shop at the corner of my eye and saw many species of fishes on sale there. An idea struck me instantly. A type of growth experiment! Why did not I think of that?
Immediately, I rushed back home to get my piggy bank to get enough money to buy a few fishes for my experiment as my wallet did not have enough money. After taking enough money, I went to the fish shop to purchase my fishes for the experiment. Reaching the fish shop, I looked for the cheapest type of fish and decided to buy two of the same type. As I approached the counter to pay for the fishes, I spotted a blue bucket behind the man which had something floating in it. Curious, I strained my eyes to see what was inside. It was an baby octopus! Wow, I did not know that fish shops sold octopuses also! Or it was illegal? I was going to get that octopus, no matter what.
“Uncle, where did you get that octopus? Could you sell it to me?” I asked the owner of the shop who was counting how much I needed to pay for the two fishes I was going to buy. His face turned as white as a piece of paper and sweat rolled down his forehead. He told me that it was nothing but my imagination, but after countless times of asking, he finally told me that his friend caught it far out at sea while fishing and gave it to him. He also told me not to tell anyone if not he would be in deep trouble. I thought for a moment and then said that if he sold it to me I would not tell anybody about it. He agreed reluctantly and sold me the baby octopus at the price of the two fishes I was going to buy before. Now, all I needed was my special food formula for the baby octopus to grow much faster. How should I make the food?
I thought of an idea and headed towards the pets store just a few shops away and bought a small packet of premium dog food and a small packet of hamster food. After buying all the things I needed, I headed back home, thinking of a way to combine all the types of food together to make a special food formula. Reaching home, I first put the baby octopus into the aquarium I used for my fishes last time. I then got to work. I crushed some the dog food and some hamster food in to small pieces to allow it to dissolve faster, and then put them into a metal pot. I put it over the fire to boil the things together. After all the food had melted and almost dissolved, I added some chocolate to make the food sweeter and nicer for the baby octopus. Lastly, I poured the brown liquid from the things I had mixed in to the ice –cube tray and put it into to the fridge to solidify the mixture into the shape of an ice cube. All I had to do now was to wait for my mixture to take form .
Now, I had prepared everything and all I needed to do was to feed the baby octopus. I got my solidified mixture in the shape of a cube and dropped it into the aquarium. At the start, the octopus approached it warily but after nibbling a bit of the cube, it started to eat it slowly. It grew larger and larger each day quickly after eating the special food I made and I took a picture of it everyday. My teachers will be so proud of my experiment. I think. Soon, the octopus grew too big for my aquarium and it began more difficult for me to hide it away from my parents. I had no choice but to hide it in my room’s toilet.
One day, when my family was eating dinner together, the octopus went out of the toilet and my parents saw the enormous creature they did not even know was living under the same roof as us for days. They were horrified and my mother fainted. As for me, I stood rooted to the ground not knowing what to do. My father and I started to panic. He fished out his phone out from his pocket and punched the number pads ‘999’.He told the police to come immediately and told me to run away first. With no other choice, I did not listen to him and used a fish from the refrigerator as bait to lure the octopus away from my father.
Quickly, I lured it out of my house and to the open space where people could see. At that moment, the police arrived and captured the giant octopus using an enormous net. All the bystanders were shell shocked and could not believe their eyes. The next day, the headlines of the newspaper in the morning was ‘ENORMOUS Octopus Appearing Out Of Nowhere’ and it was written that the octopus was sent to another country for research. When my father asked if I knew why there was a giant octopus in our house I simply just shook my head and replied no. I just hoped that the owner of the fish shop would not tell anyone about this incident.

- The CCA training of CO is damn short. CO training times: Friday from 2.30pm to 6pm, SO training times: Monday AND Friday from 2.30pm to 7PM. Its like so much difference.
- SO instructor is damn strict. If you do a little wrong right, you have to cause everyone to restart again and will also do duty afterwards which means cleaning the room after everyone is dismissed. I doubt CO have this...
Yo guys,
I would like to compare myself to the famous statue called The Thinker. This because I used to think of a lot of things in the past and now too . I say this as I only think and think but I seldom or never get up to really do a thing. I usually think of math problems as they are more fun and once in a blue moon then I will get the answer and solve the questions. The rest of the time I just think and think and refuse to get any help from anyone until I am really fed up. That is the reason why sometimes I will not listen something my teacher is talking about, because I was thinking about what he said earlier on ,that is partially why I get scolded very often by my teachers for not paying attention in class. I really dislike this habit of mine, to think too much about almost everything other people say. Sometimes ,my mother can see that I am thinking very hard and will say my hair will turn white very fast because I think too much . That’s all I have to say, thank you for listening.

Hi everone this is dexin.Im writing to talk about the multiple intelligence test we took.It was very useful and as it helped me to find out what am i. Just in case ur wondering, im intrapersonal(myself smart).It can help me to understand which studyong method should i use for myself and improve my efficiency in my work.
YO everyone...this is jiasheng.
today im going to blog about the multiple intelligence test and post my learner's profile.
Basically, I took the test on tuesday last week when we were all in the computer lab for L.A. period, and finally found out my own learner's profile....which is Interpersonal(people smart).
Though I don't really get what it means by "people smart", I can roughly guess that it means sociable, friendly or easy-to-get-along-with. If not, it might be something close to what i have guessed. For that, I think that this test is SOMEHOW quite accurate(if y'll know what i mean), as you (kind of) can say that I'm sociable or 'friendly?' -I mean it's totally alright if you disagree with me.
My second highest rating for the test though, is intrapersonal(myself smart). I think we can all agree that we ARE "myself smart", or that most of us got that as one of the highest ratings in the test since we are all in HCI(well, maybe except for SOME* of the sports dsa students). This is also another very good example why i found this multiple intelligence test very accurate.
Overall, I think I enjoyed doing the test and learning more about myself and that I hope Mdm Lim will hav more of this kind of tests for us to do, to know ourselves better and what we are good at.
Hi y'all this is jiasheng.
today, imma talk about these 2 e-learning/home-learning days that we have gone through.
personally i feel that these 2 days were quite educational and meaningful. At the very least, I didn't find it as boring and as monotonous as the lectures that we get everyday in class.
In my opinion, the Math was the easiest subject to complete as it IS very straightforward and the instructions on what we were supposed to do was very clear. It was also very educational of course. But the subject that was the most confusing was IH(integrated humanities). I didn't think Mr Ho explained what we were supposed to do that clearly though it was in some way still enjoyable as we got to communicate with our friends on the internet (for the first time for some of us).
As for einglish...I think the lessons were quite easy to do and fast to complete-that's what i like the subject.
I really hope that there will be more home-learning days to come for the rest of this year as i really had a whale of a time for the past 2 days.
I guess everyone has the same problem like me,the home learning is nightmare.I almost cannot understand what the Info-Comm Studies is about.And the science isn't much better.I don't even know what is the Science e-portfolio thing.It seems to that learning in school is tiring but i can understand better.This is posted by zhangjie your mighty and greatest treasurer
Hi every one,
i did the multiple intelligences test and i realised that i am intrapersonal which means Myself smart.i think the test result is quite true as i prefer to work with myself,i like being quiet alone and think of solutions to problems alone.Because i can learn better in that way.I don't really like group work because the discussion often turn into our own chatting,some people will not cooperate and they will destroy the whole discussion.
Yours sincerely,
Chenming
Hi everyone,
The first answer is the egg will sink.
The second answer is that the egg will float due to density.
Hi , im back again , phew! my common test are over. But todays objective on this post is not on my test but rather on my learning. I took the test online and i found out that my learning style is interpersonal(people smart) and visual/spatial(picture).I am not surprised by the the results i got as i like working with my friends in group work projects and i can memorize pictures easily. The test online is indeed accurate. I will use my learning style and learn so that it can be more effective and reduce my stress intead of trying and forcing myself to learn in another style.
This is javier and this post is about the multiple intelligence test.The test is quite accurate in the sense that the result of the test is really reliable and true.I had been picture smart as i could draw but will need a lot of time to do a beautiful drawing.The test is quite long with a few lame questions but i just write what i think about myself and i quite like the results.LOL
Yo Guys, I am back ( but 4 just onli a post):D
I think there is not a need for this test. I looked through the different tasks for different personalities and I find that all tasks could be done by anyone, no matter what their personalities are. I feel that all of us should be given the same task.

hi everyone,today i am going to talk about this test.Firstly,i think that this tesi is stupid as come on,who in this world who have lived for 13 years and do not know their personality...no one!!!However,i am thankful to be intrapersonal as the task for it is quiet simple.Got to go!!byes.................richmondlim
Hello i am Anthony low(24) and my learning style is interpersonal. I feel that it is very accurate as i am exactly that kind of person. i hope i would have more opportunities to learn more from this learning style as i would learn better from this learning style.
Mutiple Intelligence Test
Everybody took the multiple Intelligence Test last Tuesday and it showed the type of learning each person was supposed to be.(sounds a liittle weird) I took the test and I was a natural learner.
I found the test quite accurate as I felt I was a naturalistc learner and I like appreciating nature. I am a sort of person who likes doing research and I am glad that the test let me do research on lamb as a food.
I hope that the mutiple intelligence test helped my fellow friends to discover their learning style as well and to propel them to greater heights by learning through the correct ways.
Signing off,

Hello all. I am Ang Wen Yang and this is my 3rd post.
Everyone knows of 3rd language. Well, the 3rd language I have is Japanese. はじめますて!
I have some others from my class who are also taking Japanese. Most Hwa Chongians go to the Language centre in Ghim Moh to take Japanese lessons. My class is J1.37. Most of the students there are Hwa Chongians, with a few others from Nanyang and Raffles Girls.
Our せんせい teaches us Japanese. She is very kind and can tolerate some noise. Sometimes, when it gets too noisy, she will slam the duster on the whiteboard so hard that the whole class becomes extraordinarily quiet. She gives us a やすみ for じゅうごふん(15mins) in the middle of the lesson. During that time, everyone dashes to the canteen to get drinks, go to the toilet etc. If they ever come back late, they will have to apologize to the teacher(おそくなて、すみません) and sit in a kneeling position on the chair for the next 15 mins again!
Although Japanese is tiring to learn and pick up, I enjoy it!

Hello everyone. I am Ang Wen Yang and this is my second blog posting.
New Year is coming. Everyone is happy. On the day of Chinese New Year, The school allowed us to put on home clothes to school, although, the clothes could not be of dark colours.
We had a massive gathering of all in Hwa Chong. The Sec 1s and 2s sat on the floor. The Sec 3s and 4s sat on the 2nd level. The colledge students occupied the 3rd level. There were lion dances and performances by the Chinese Orchestra, Chinese Drama, Wushu and others. Everyone participated in the singing of the New Year songs. The whole hall was drowned in shouts, chatters, cheering and laughter. The sound boxes that were fixed to the side shook as the loud music filled the air. This was the first time I have ever heard the whole school cheer like mad!
All of a sudden, the God of fortune stepped into the hall. Sweets and chocolates were flung into the air by a meer wave of the god's hand. Students were fighting for the sweets after that. of course we knew the "财神爷" was actually a person in a costume, everyone still kept the festive atmosphere in the air.
The school was dismissed early. Hence, I decided to visit my Chinese teacher as my form teacher had changed school.
Many students were there. I met another old friend Johnathan (everyone calls him Jonny). He was in Victoria. We had a good talk before going in.
My primary school had moved to a holding school so it was hard to get around as we didn't know where all the rooms had shifted to. After a few 20 mins or so finding our way round the school, I finally met my chinese teacher. We talked about school life and other stuff.
After all that, I walked home.
It was a good feeling to be back to my old school.
The cross country run for Hwa Chong was held last Wednesday , it was an enriching expierience indeed , i did not know when was the last time i was taken over by fatigue like that. I was sweating from hair to toe and my legs were aching.But on that day i was happy to get top 100th even though i was not a competitive runner. Later did i find out i still had my cca training! i regretted not drinking isotonic drinks that day.The run was 3 kilometres , i rarely run that far in a year , not even in my physical training at the end of my track and field throwing trainings.But overall , i thought that the run was exciting and fun.I look forward to running again next year.

Hello all, this is Ang Wen Yang from Kong Hwa. Sorry for posting this late.
Life in Hwa Chong is different from primary school life. I get to go to a new class with new facilities and new classmates, new teachers etc.
Many people would miss their old primary school friends when they graduate to secondary school. I particularly miss my old friend, who has gone to Dunman High.
I hope I can extend my network of friends to a much greater scale.
Wish to be friends with you all.
The Multiple Intelligence test is NOT accurate! I can make u slap yourself u know... ok what am i saying... nvrm moving on...Trust me i think its not that accurate but doing the test is pretty fun. So many private questions............................. dont tell me later they post it on............. what am i thinking..... ok never mind. Come on dont tell me eveyone must do a blog... gosh nvrm just forget it. Ok about the blog................ the blog is quite interesting u know... but really ridiculous man. Hmmm..... let me show u my chain of reasoning...........
1.) If u think this is ridiculous, please dont read any further ( dont try to read on when u think in ur head that this is ridiculous. If u dare disobey, something u fear will happen in 24 hours time. There is no turning back.)
2.)First, do u have a pet? if yes move on, if no...... get lost
3.)Secondly, do u have any siblings? If no get lost if yes u can move on
4.) If u want to earn money, slap yourself right in the face... show my on vedio and u will get a reward.
5.) If u really are dumb enough to actually slap yourself, u must be ridiculous. Just to tell u, I told u just now that i can make u slap yourself.
6.) Now u have just went so see if I really said that... wow u seroiusly are ridiculous.
End of test. (LAME)
Your results are 0% correct.
Hi, this is Hong Jin Xiang and this post would be the posting on the Mutiple Intelligence Test. The Multiple Intelligence Test is an online quiz which asks the user questions on thier personality and adds up all the answers to calculate his/her best style of learning. My highest scoring was the Musical(Music Smart) section, with a score of 21. I cannot sing well, but I often listen to music whenever I am free. I do not like classic songs because they often make me feel sleepy, I prefer those songs that have a catchy tune. Overall, I find this quiz quite accurate, and I had fun taking this test.

Hello everyone! I am Jovian and I will be posting about the Multiple Intelligence Test that I just took. The results of the test shows that I am Interpersonal ( People smart ) and abit of Logical( Number smart ) and Visual ( Picture smart ) . I feel that this test will help me learn better by finding out my strengths and weaknesses in learning. I quite agree with the quiz that i am Logical ( Number smart ) as I have been doing well in Math in my Primary School and even PSLE. Also, I agree with the quiz that i am Visual ( Picture Smart ) because I remember things better by seeing pictures. This test really benefited me alot and i hope that there would be more of this kind of tests to improve our learning.
Hi i am Koh Jing Yuan(16) and I am going to talk about the multiple intelligence test.The test shows that i am interpersonal and musical. I would say that the results are quite true as I learned to play the piano and recently the Pipa. For interpersonal, I can tell if someone is feeling sad or excited and others. I though that i would logical but maybe not . it was quite true about me not being linguistic as my compositions are always the lowest marks and the most boring.
Through this test, i am happy to know what i am weak in and i hope to improve myself in the area of my weakness and have more of this kind of test.
Hi guys, this is Jian Xian. I am going to talk about my learner profile today. I am both interpersonal and intrapersonal.
I think that the Multiple Intelligence Test is very useful. It enables me to understand myself better as I know my strongest learning style.This enables me to learn more effectively. For example,I am weak in Musical/Rhythmicand Naturalist but strong in intapersonal and interpersonal. From there i would try to learn in that way so i can learn faster and better. Besides, i will know which places to work on and to mantain.Thus, we eventually will be strong in all areas.It would help us alot in our social and academic aspect.Not only that, the Multiple Intelligence Test also allowed me to do my home learning easily. In conclusion,I am happy to know my weaknesses and strength. I hope to have other Multiple Intelligence Test in future.

I must say the multiple intelligence test was quite accurate. The results really portrayed my way of doing things. For example, intrapersonal is quite true for me as I like to take things from someone's point of view and analyse the issue or problem and then solve it. Or I will take note of the point of view and write a report on it. The test also mentioned that I am Inter pesonal and that is also true as I think I can get along well with my peers and friends. That is probably why I enjoy coming together as a group to do projects or assignments. It is because I am able to understand my peers and cooperate with them, that I interpersonal. I think that being inter personal is a good thing as you get to know the views of different people rather than your own and you get to discuss about them and share them within the group. Getting opinions from others is a way of improving yourselve too. I believe that if one is to rigid and don't open up to what others have to say, then he is at an disadvantage as he only knows one way to solve a problem but has no alternative methods to do so.
Hi, I am Ryan Ong and I am going to post about the Intelligence test. My results for this test is I am intrapersonal. I must say that it was quite accurate. However, it was not so accurate for me being a music smart type. To me, the most boring subject is music, so this is a point that I must disagree on. On the whole, I agree that I am intrapersonal. There are also two other points that I expected myself to excel in which are Logical(Number Smart) and the other picture smart. In primary school, I have always liked Mathematics and have always excel in that subject. Same for picture smart, I have a very good memory and is able to memorise things well. From this test, I found out the areas that I should maintain on and the parts that I should improve on. Glad to know my weaknesses and strengths. Hope to have more of such tests in the near future.

Having being a Interpersonal person to me is great. Back in my Primary School, I got myself in many 'Class Politics' with my classmates and Chinese Teacher. After every 'case' my gang of 'detectives' have solved, we would always get into another one within a week. My gang consisited of 4-5 members. The numbers always changed as people started to get afraid of getting into trouble with my teachers. Despite being reprimanded for a few times, my 'gang' and I were still investigating many things. At the end of the year, after our PSLE, when everyone were playing, we got permission to run round the school to ask other teachers. Obviously, we were scolded, badly... Lol...
Hi, guys. Today is de 1st day of home-learning and I am going 2 post about de multiple intelligences test we took. I think that it is quite helpful as it can help us dtermine what type of studying suites us best and we dont have to study in ways that are not de most beneficial 2 us anymore. Isnt that great? We can study less and learn more. Despite that, it is kindda boring as there r many questions and some of them r very similar 2 each other so some of de questions r kind of worthless.
Do ya still remember de "what kind of bird u r" thing? I think that that is very helpful although it had like 80 questions. By de way, I am an "Eagle" and interpersonal.

After doing the Multiple Intelligence Test, I realised my weak points and strong points. It helped me to understand myself better and know the type I am. I know that I am myself smart and kind of quiet. I need to go out and be more active as that is what I understand about the term myself smart. I am also good in other places but the only things i don't excel in is my word smart and body smart. I already expected to not excel in those two places but it was unbelivable that I actually exceled in all the other components. Besides that, the Multiple Intelligence test helped me do my home learning which is the homework. I wish that there will be other Multiple Itelligence Test in the future as I think it is very fun and useful to have this test.

Hello! Today is the first day of home learning and I am going to post this post on my learning style and about the Multiple Intelligence test. To me, I feel that the multiple intelligence test did not really help me alot to find my learning style. Even after I got my results of being interpersonal, I still don't feel that my learning style is that. However, the 'What type of Bird are you' done during PSP really helped. I agreed that I was a thinker and not any other one.
Anyway, the multiple intelligence test did help a little, at least it let me realise that I am not one who likes to experiment with things. I feel that the test was a little too long because it was over 15 questions and most of the questions are somewhat related.
But anyway, it still helped a little.

HI everybody. This will be my last post for the term. I hope it isnt too late... I would like to say sorry to all those that i might have angered or irritated.
Today is is the 15th day of Chinese New Year. And I wish everyone a happy new year ! : )
Does Anybody play mousehunt? I do hope you guys can send me some gold : )
Last friday, a group of 6 sec 1s and myself went to the co-curricular activity branch at Bukit Timah to cheer the c division volleyball team. It was their first match in the nationals competition and was looking for a good start to this competition. Just recently, they came in first in the west zone competition. It is the first time in 10 years.
Last friday, they were competing against Yishun Town secondary school(YTSS). they were not better than Hwa Chong and we were looking for an easy win. unexpectedly, (YTSS) was better than us in the first set. Luckily, the c division realised what was happening and won 9 points in a row. In the end, Hwa Chong won the first set 25-20. The second set was much easier as (YTSS) did not have anymore spirits to carry on. Eventually, Hwa Chong won the match 25-20, 25-16.
I would like to wish my seniors good luck in the future matches.

This is jiahao here and this will be my last blog post for this term. I am going to blog about the cross-country race that we took part in on wednesday. Before the run, we were all given a tag that has a timer in it. the tags a;so had numbers on it, my number was 62. I took part in the mass run as i was too slow to qualify for the competitive run. As we the secondary ones, we got to run first. the PE teachers asked us to get down to the track, and asked the competitive runners to stand in front because they will get to run first. After the competitive runners started, we moved up and waited for the bang, then we started running. After running for i dont know how long, i finally finished running the 4km. After the run, i returned the tag to eddie and went to get my milo from the milo van. I drank 4 cups of it. Then, we had the prize giving ceremony and the wholething ended.
Hi, Good morning everyone!
12.05am now. This would be my final post for the term. It would be about my experience in my CCA now, which is the military band. I was very happy that I got into my first choice together with Ethan, Wen Yang and Jia hao. On the first day of the CCA, which was during the trials, the whole band was introduced to the band majors and following that we went to Music room 1, which was known as the outdoor band room to play icebreaker games. Not long after we got there, the air- conditioner stopped working. The band major told us that we were very lucky that the air- conditioner stopped working now, because that only happens once in a year. More unlucky rather! Anyway, I had a lot of fun... as usual. On the following week, we were told to go for the tryouts for our instruments. I wanted to play the trumpet, but however, they do not need anymore trumpeters. I tried many instruments and a senior told me that I could play the flute. Now, I am still unsure of what instrument I was going to play. After the tryouts, we were taught basic music theory by the student conductor. For those who sat through lectures before, that was just like how I felt. After all the incidents that happen, I still did not regret that I put band as my first choice. Thanks everyone and good night!
This is one of the band's performing piece on youtube-

Week 0- Posting to Hwa Chong. This was the end of the holidays. I was enthusiastic about being a part of the Hwa Chong Family with 10 other friends. It was a tough time to spend, having to wait for a whole week.
Hi everyone! i am Koh Jing Yuan(16) and this is my fifth and last post for the term. I am going to talk about my first training day in my CCA: Chinese orchestra.
My CCA starts at 2.20pm and ends at 6pm. The good thing is that we only have to go training only on Fridays. At the first day, i though the CCA starts at 2pm, so i rushed to SALT centre without having my lunch and found out that it starts at 2.20pm =.= . We went into the CO room and then sat there and waited for a teacher to come. He then told us that we are being distributed to different instruments randomly. Luckily, I was to sent to the strings section which then i the coach for the string section told me to play the Pipa and i was happy because I wanted to learn to play the Pipa.
The sec 1 in the string section sat at the back of the room specially for the strings section until 4pm and meanwhile we practiced the finger exercises that the coach told us to do. At 4pm, the senior then went up to the CO room for a mass music playing while the sec 1 stay in the room and get to try how to play the instruments. the caoch gave us some notes and asked the us to photocopy them. a kind senior gave us his photocopying card. when we reached the photocopying place, we discovered that the card only have $0.41 left -.- . We then ran back to SALT centre and asked for 1 more card and ran back to the photocopying shop.
Playing the Pipa is far more interesting than playing the piano. But the problem is i normally read piano scores, but the Pipa notes that the teacher ave us is written in numbers. For example: 1 stands for dou, 2 stands for re and so on.
But nonetheless, i like playing the Pipa and i am really glad that i joined chinese orchestra as it is interesting and there is alot of LEAP points and CIP hours to get =).
